Haunted houses and haunt attractions are a lot of fun. They’re fun to go to, fun to work at and sometimes fun to build and run. I have had the good fortune to be able to do all of these things. At VFX Creative Studios, the crew contributes ideas born from our experiences with the haunt attractions industry. Most of us have done almost everything there is to do at haunt attractions, and would probably agree the best part is the SCARE! If there was a better scare out there, wouldn’t you want to know about it? It is with our collective knowledge of the haunt attractions industry, and our personal experience with the grueling, yet fun, work that haunt actors endure to deliver the SCARE, the Minion Actor Sound System™ was born.

The Minion Actor Sound System™ is a one pound 4”x4”x2” box that puts out sound up to 106 decibels at about a 1 meter distance. 106 decibels is louder than a chainsaw, not to mention a lot lighter in weight.  Those specs are pretty impressive alone, add to that the capability to program ANY sounds you want on two different channels, and the possibilities get even better, your most effective characters are not limited to whoever can carry and run with a chainsaw. Now add to that, a microphone and a six button wireless trigger, and you are getting closer to what the Minion Actor Sound System™ can do. Then add the optional six button hacker kit with wireless transmitter so you can put triggers into an actor’s prop, and you’ve got a haunt attraction actors new favorite toy.

So now actors can walk through a crowd and have theme music playing wherever they go, and it will be heard. They can pre-record a speech they say hundreds of times each night and just lip-sync and save their voice. They can growl, howl or cackle all night long and not go horse. They can add horn noises to a creepy clown, or loud “caws” to the crow prop on the gravedigger’s shoulder, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Although our experience is primarily in the special effects and haunt attractions industries, we realized while we were developing this product that the uses were not limited to our industries. During our many trips to conventions to promote our services and products, VFX has had the good fortune to meet some of the most interesting and talented people. Everything from highly detailed and elaborate Cosplay artists to Masters of Live Action Role Play. These individuals have expressed to us a desire for our products as well!
